Again I showed my book and it is still not quite as organised as it needs to be. I was advised to look more carefully and make sure that work relates, and to rather leave a gap than to try and make sure pages are full, as I sometimes put things together which don't really match up. I also need to annotate my book a lot more since I can easily explain my book and idea's however my book doesn't relate to what I am trying to say. My pages need to also look more beautiful. It was pointed out however that it was good that I had picked up on artists which is something my designer, Pierre Hardy bases his work on.
In order to make my book better I have started to find out P. Hardy's S/S collections and to group them as so and have started new cover pages to showcase his work since the previous one was difficult to work with and have also started to write out annotations and am adding in pages to make my work more cohesive and less jumpy so that others can see why and how I have gotten things in my book, such as other artists which might inspire P. Hardy. I have also re-done my Trends page so that the colour trend and main trend relate, instead of having colour trend and material trend which didn't really relate in colour or theme. I think this was a good thing to do as I want a 2.1 and feel that by taking on board the advice and by making notes that I can later go back and change things which is also starting to help me to move forward further since I can now see information more clearly and am beginning to be more inspired by the unit which I was previously struggling with.

Photoshop...

This will help me as when I do a picture on photoshop I can make it look more realistic by knowing how to use reflections and can also make objects look more 3D by using the perception tool which will make my photo's look more realistic.

Laser Cutting comments/reflection
For 133 DVA Angela said that she could see that I had done a lot of work from photo’s and not many drawings from real life items and also that I should try drawing blind and drawing with my left hand. I have gone and brought some flowers so that I can do 50 extra drawings from real life and am also looking to do some more drawings of shoes since she commented that she liked them and I think many people will be doing flowers when they do their laser cutting. She also said that I need to find something that inspires me and so am looking at exotic flowers and couture shoes to draw.

Organising workbook
Today I showed Ann my work book; I had done 2 pages of Pierre Hardy’s shoes and had also gotten some items off of WGSN.
Ann said that it would have been better to organise my research on his work, by collections and the years they were done as well as by gender, as I had tried to put them all onto 2 spaces and to not mix them together. Since it is only 2 pages that I have done, I will re-do these pages so that I can get higher marks and so that they can make more sense when read, as she has explained that I would find it easier to see how they have evolved with the trends and also so that I don’t work from shoes that are really old and out of date.
Ann also mentioned that I had found all of the WGSN trends, but had started to work with the trends instead of building on them, I have therefore removed the unnecessary men’s footwear trends that I found and have started to build on the footwear trends by finding colours and materials which will be popular and have also looked into Olympian architecture to influence my designs.

131 DVA - Results + Reflection
For 131DVA in order to improve I need to improve on my garment construction skills and I need to learn to label all of my pattern pieces. This means I will make an extra garment at home to try to improve on my sewing skills and will also make the extra garment that you can make for the laser cutting project to fit yourself. This will also allow me to draft my own pattern as well.
130 DVA - Results + Reflection
In order to get better marks on my next unit I need to improve my production quality for the final smaller pieces, which means that in my marketing unit, I will start my marketing research much earlier and will start the production of the box earlier so that the quality can be vastly improved. I will also do more before work so that I can ensure that it compliments or contrasts my final design better so that I don't lose marks. I will also work on the quality of my mark making and try to do one large mark making per artist instead of loads of little pictures which lack quality to try to improve the quality.
V&A- House of Annie Lennox & Post Modernism
We went to the house of Annie Lennox that was being held in the V&A and also went and saw the Post modernism exhibit.
The Annie Lennox room had some of her costumes and accessories in, these were interesting to see although they couldn’t be seen well, which made the silhouette’s more interesting and was very inspiring, and made me look at the silhouette’s. This has now fed into my work as I am looking more at the silhouette rather than the overall design and is allowing me to find unique and different silhouette’s which may help to make my work more couture which is something I want to do in my laser cutting project as we have been told to focus mainly on lines which would be made more interesting by silhouettes of the overall garments.
The post modernism room had many pieces of art work in and some costumers by various designers as well. The photographs and films were most interesting for me as they had different opinions and debated on post modernism which was interesting in itself. Meanwhile some of the stuff interested many of it did not, some of the pop art type colours and shapes did but meanwhile the films and photographs were interesting I cannot see how they will feed into my work directly but have given me something interesting to look at.
